How do you connect WiOO to light points?

How to install WiOO?

How do you control a light point from multiple buttons with virtual circuits?

How to create a virtual circuit?

Each button and each portion of the light crown (halo) can be set to create infinite customizations of the home environment

How to color WiOO?

Simple diagram for connecting phase and neutral in a smart switch

WiOO replaces traditional switches and is suitable for new installations or renovations. The technologies included allow an advantageous reduction in the use of electrical cables.

Simply power WiOO with Phase and Neutral as per the diagram and then connect traditional lights, smart lights or devices to the three loads, with a maximum absorption of 100W. Where not necessary, a load can also remain free. To complete the virtual system use the WiOO app.

The installation of WiOO devices must be carried out by a qualified installer. For further details, consult the installation and use guide.

WiOO app and some settings from the Devices menu

WiOO allows you to create any combination of keys and loads within its app by setting up Virtual Circuits, which simplify installation.

The connections usually necessary for controlling multiple zones of a light point are not required, because they can be programmed via the app, also guaranteeing maximum versatility: the layout of the system can change at any time, simply by acting on the WiOO app.

The mesh network is independent of the Internet connection, so it will remain active even if the home router is interrupted.

For further details, consult the installation and use guide.

WiOO app and some settings from the Mood menu

WiOO is not just a switch to turn lights on, off and control, but is, in turn, an illuminating element that contributes to creating infinite customizations of the home environment.

The three buttons can be colored as desired, and the exclusive and distinctive Halo that follows the perimeter of WiOO can light up, color, pulsate and create light signals that communicate specific situations defined by the user, but also change in color during the day.

You can manage all these options easily via the WiOO app: you can use voice commands to recall scenes based on saved moods.

For further details, consult the installation and use guide.

What is WiOO Switch?

WiOO Switch by WiDesign Srl is a Smart Home devices with specific goals:
• to use standard wireless protocols, a choice that avoids the constraint of proprietary technologies and does not make cloud services indispensable;
• consistency between hardware design and firmware development, ensure the stability of the signal and adherence to market standards for secure communications;
• create added value solutions compatible with ecosystems from major manufacturers of devices and voice control.

Why is WiOO different from other switches on the market?

Commonly defined as “smart switches” devices that manage lights via wireless, and there are two categories:
• some perform the function of dedicated remote controls for a specific brand of smart lights;
• most of them use unique internal relay connections and manage the power supply of conventional light bulbs.
WiOO can control all types of lamps, but also customize the appearance with colors, activate actions and, thanks to its motion sensor, react to movement.

What are the most innovative features of WiOO?

On top to the functionality of a common three-button dimmer switch & diverter, it allows you to program the buttons to memorize and execute scenes, sequences or individual operations both locally or remotely.
The WiOO app on top of manage the entire installation and use process has a unique feature to friendly set up custom wireless electrical circuits

Is there a difference between the WiOO Master Switch and the WiOO Switch?

Looking identical, WiOO Master Switch and WiOO Switch differ only in firmware.
WiOO Master Switch is the main heart. It communicates with HomeKit, with the Home and WiOO apps and supervises the network of all WiOO Switches, up to a maximum of 11. If the maximum number of 11 WiOO Switches is exceeded, a second WiOO Master Switch can be installed and the system expands to adapt to the size and needs of each home.
WiOO Switch requires a WiOO Master Switch.

What does Apple Home (HomeKit) compatible mean?

A device is Apple Home compatible when, in addition to management via the proprietary app, it can be set and controlled from the Home App, thus allowing integration with other devices and creating a functioning ecosystem throughout the home.

Why Apple Home only?

From the very first moments we thought that a switch should not only control the lights but every device, to be truly smart! Apple Home is the only environment that allows you to activate coordinated events, even between multiple devices, with a simple command.
The core of our functionality is for a user the freedom to redefine within a HomeKit system the concept of on off.

Can WiOO be installed in place of the old switches?

Of course!
In case of refurbishment, if it is not necessary to move the position of the previously installed switches, WiOO does not require additional tracks or the change of the wall box. It fits into the common three-module built-in models.

Can I install WiOO by myself?

WiOO is designed to be easily installed by those who have experience in connecting a normal light switch, however safety regulations require that interventions in the electrical system be carried out by qualified professionals.
Once the connections are made all the preferences can be edited from yourself using WiOO app.

Why does WiOO require the neutral wire?

Using a single circuit to convey the return current – Neutral – is a case that concerns old electrical systems or particular geographical areas. Devices that can operate without the neutral cable normally require a capacitor and electrical connections that must be installed by a professional, with the main purpose of controlling a lamp from several points.
WiOO simplifies the electrical installation thanks to the unique Virtual Circuits, which require a neutral wire for each direct load to provide a flow to the return current.

What is the WiOO Virtual Circuit?

It’s a unique feature to design the electrical layout of your home without adding, removing or changing a wire.
The WiOO buttons are not directly connected to the electrical load they are controlling, but instead are part of a network that connects all WiOOs. This allows you to decide at any time whether to control an electrical load from a single or a group of buttons.

Is WiOO compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa?

Currently WiOO is only compatible with Siri, Apple’s voice assistant.
WiDesign will release compatibility with other voice assistants in conjunction with the Thread-Matter release.

Will WiOO have a Thread-Matter version?

WiDesign strongly believes in the validity of a common connection standard and the Thread-Matter version of WiOO is already in development.

What are the requirements to be able to install and use WiOO?

A WiOO system requires:
• one WiOO Master Switch for every 11 WiOO Switches
To install WiOO Master Switch you need:
• Wireless connection to an Internet router
• iPhone, iPod or iPad with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS
• Free WiOO app, available on the App Store
(optional) AppleTV (4th generation or later) HomePod or HomePod mini, set up as a home hub, for away from home and automation control.

What are the WiOO Technical Specifications?

The specifications apply to both WiOO Master Switch and WiOO Switch:
• Input: 100-240V AC, 50/60 Hz
